BIOGRAPHY SYNOPSIS: Internationally acclaimed singer, performer and writer, Barb grew up in the small town of Rochdale in the northwest of England in a European household. Surrounded by music, taken to films and operas, and with pantomimes and performances at the local Church as a young girl she wrote music, poetry and plays throughout her school years and developed her passion for performance. From the age of 7 till her teens she played the violin, and formed an all girl folk group whilst still at school which played around Manchester and Stockport. At college in Leeds she sang in all sorts of bands, from trad jazz to near bluegrass, before moving to London in her early twenties.
