Once a year, since 1991, World Art Celebrities Journal elects "The Man of the Year", "The Artist of the Year", "The International Woman of the Year" in Humanities/Social Affairs and "The International Star of the Year" in Music and Entertainment. And every time I took part in the election process, storms, waves and rainbows of faces I loved, artists I cherished and memories of Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Carlos Gardel, Sara Montiel, Jean Cocteau and the whole damned melodrama of Paris 1930 avalanche before my perturbed eyes and wondering soul. Artists are so dear to my heart.
The election is basically and primarily based upon the journal's Editorial Board nomination and selection, the Committee of Arts and Entertainment Critics' recommendation and the vote of our readers worldwide, via international survey/poll conducted in 135 countries, where WACJ is read. Grande Dame of the American media, Dr. Monica Crowley, former international affairs and political relations advisor to President Nixon and host of the nationally acclaimed New York's "Monica Crowley Show" has been elected International Woman of the Year. While, United Kingdom's newest-reinvented- music and entertainment sensation Lauren Field, one of the most delightful human beings and fascinating ladies of our generation, a superb songwriter, performer, singer and producer has been elected as the International Star of the Year. We researched her life, accomplishments, ups and downs, successes and some of her "hard times and tough moments" in her life and career. We spent hours and days and nights talking to her, asking her questions, exchanging correspondences and stories, jokes and tales of her life's adventures. She fascinated me. What a woman!
