Once a year, in the December issue, we publish readers' photos favorite (s). The readers write to us from around the globe telling us about the personalities, photos and events which made a huge impact on them. So, our staff in the archives department starts to get busy, searching for those photos and digging everywhere they can to find the photos and clips. Some of our employees love it. Others curse it! But, it is always exciting and rewarding to find out what the world, the readers, you and us choose and prefer. The selection of photos is so revealing and informative. Some readers chose photos of people from Afghanistan, others love to see the pictures of Edith Piaf, Marlene Dietrich and Audrey Hepburn...and of course, those who rejoice in hymns to love, in ballades screaming life and mocking fate...and feed their fantasies by choosing photos of dramatic men and women, femme fatales, cabaret singers, and colorful stormy characters. C'est la vie! Thus, this section becomes a "favorite" by itself, a human chronicle in photos...and memories... Here is what the readers from around the world chose this year.
