Soho Theatre Company wants to build on its success and expand, introducing developmental work in the studio and more STC productions. We want to stay at the forefront of developing and producing new writing talent and to maintain a programme of consistent quality. We want to continue to find new audiences and introduce them to the joy of discovering new plays.’
Abigail Morris, Artistic Director

Soho Theatre Company receives financial support from Arts Council England and Westminster City Council. In order to develop as diverse a programme as possible, we need additional support from trusts, foundations, friends and sponsors. With your support, we can commission more writers, produce more new plays, offer more education opportunities for a wider range of people and develop our outreach work.

Soho Theatre is a registered charity 267234

Why we need your friendship

Soho Theatre Company is a charity. Our aim is to produce new plays, discover and develop new writers and reach new audiences. We read over 1,000 new scripts a year, sending a free detailed report to each writer. We work intensively with over 100 emerging playwrights. And each year our Writers’ Attachment Programme develops 6 outstanding new writers for the stage, TV, film and radio. We run workshops in primary schools, each year introducing 300 children to the thrill of writing for the stage. We organise a young writers’ programme working with over 200 14–25 year olds. And we run an education and outreach programme to help disadvantaged and diverse groups within the community. Of course, every new writer wants to see their play performed on stage. Our theatre is often the first to make this happen. We commission around 20 plays a year and produce a year-round programme of bold, original and accessible new writing. Over 80,000 people visit our theatre each year.

Please help us to continue and expand our work. Please become a friend.

How much is our friendship worth to you?
