The decision proved to be both prudent and effective as the event appealed to a wider audience. It resulted in the event attracting local, national and international artists from: USA,, Republic of Ireland, England, Scotland, N. Ireland , Zimbabwe. Acts varied from traditional jazz to major big band events, this policy will be maintained in 2004. Venues include Nerve Centre, Millennium Forum, City Hotel, Tower Hotel, & Waterside Theatre.
